Darren’s Fundraiser
Story
In October 2022 I will be taking part in the UTA 100km Run consisting of 4460 meters of elevation. I’ve created this fundraising page to help raise funds for Melanoma Institute Australia.
100km race details - https://www.ultratrailaustralia.com.au/race-options/uta100/
As you may know, Sarah was diagnosed with Melanoma in September 2021. She has since required 3 surgeries for 3 separate Melanomas and will undergo testing and scans every 3 months for the indefinite future.
FACTS -
- Australia has the highest rates of melanoma in the world. It is expected that 16,800 people will be diagnosed with melanoma this year. That means one person is told they have melanoma every 30 minutes.
- Melanoma is the most common cancer affecting 20 to 39-year-old Australians.
- It is estimated 1300 Australians will die from melanoma this year. One person every 6 hours.
- Currently, 50% of advanced Melanoma patients don’t respond to or develop resistance to the immunotherapy treatment which saves others.
With your help, the funds we raise will support MIA’s world-class research, treatment, and education programs to help save lives from melanoma.
Click ‘Donate’ to make a secure online donation. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!
Love,
Dazza (and Shazza) xxx
