Hello, welcome & thank you for jumping onto our fundraising page!
On the 10th of Feb, 2023, one of my biggest cheerleaders lost her battle with Melanoma. Whether you knew Jillian personally or, have met anyone who has been touched by her, you would know that her fierce love for life, being active and being by the ocean were a huge part in shaping her into the incredible lady that she was.
Melanoma is the most common cancer affecting 20 to 39-year-old Australians and one Australian is diagnosed with the disease every 30 minutes. One thing we know for sure, skin cancer does not discriminate, living in the beautiful Aussie sun increases all of our risk.
From start to finish of her Melanoma journey, Jill remained a strong advocate for Melanoma awareness. Whether it was encouraging friends to have their skin checked, donating to Melanoma research or encouraging her bestie to stock sunscreen in her gift store, Jill wanted to ensure that everyone's awareness continued to grow.
So, whether it is $1 or $10 (donations over $2 are tax deductible) that you can spare, all funds raised will support the Melanoma Institute of Australia continue their world-class research, treatment & education programs to save more lives from melanoma.
