Melanoma Research Fundraiser
Melanoma Research Fundraiser
Story
Hi there,
My name is Thomas Tuck I am running a Half Marathon on the 27th of May to raise money in aid of Melanoma Institute Australia. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
This is important to me as my Dad is currently battling Melanoma. Unfortunately we have not found a treatment that has worked, so I want to take this opportunity to bring awareness and raise funds to support cancer research foundations such as the Melanoma Institute Australia in hope that one day I can help people in a similar situation.
I’ve created this fundraising page to help Melanoma Institute Australia reach zero deaths from melanoma.
Australia has the highest rates of melanoma in the world. Melanoma is the most common cancer affecting 20 to 39-year-old Australians and one Australian is diagnosed with the disease every 30 minutes. It is estimated 1300 Australians will die from melanoma this year.
With your help, the funds we raise will support MIA’s world-class research, treatment, and education programs to save lives from melanoma. Melanoma research is also underpinning treatment for other cancers, including brain cancer.
Melanoma Institute Australia
Melanoma Institute Australia is dedicated to the goal of zero deaths from melanoma, a goal we believe we can reach this decade through innovative, world-class research, treatment, and education programs. For more info, visit our website. Melanoma Institute Australia (incorporating melanomaWA, Skin Cancer Tasmania and Amie St Clair).
